Huawei is facing a big change. All upcoming products will be delivered with a new operating system. The company is saying goodbye to Google and Android. The notepad Pro 2 goes even further.
Huawei MatePad Pro 2 with more than just a new operating system
Tomorrow is a big day for Huawei. The Chinese company will officially switch from Android to HarmonyOS. Version 2.0 should not only be used on the Huawei Watch 3 but according to the latest information also on the new Tablet MatePad Pro 2. This is the first big change. If you take a closer look at the software in the leaked picture above, you can see the second big innovation, namely the similarities to Apple’s iPad. Huawei has oriented itself very much towards the competition with the tablet surface in order to simplify operation. Android is not a good role model here, because Google does not attach great importance to the tablet version of the operating system. This is probably the reason for the orientation towards Apple, which has proven itself.
The third big fresh start for Huawei will be the choice of processor. The notepad Pro 2 is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 870. But not the 5G version that the rest of the world can use, but a 4G version specially developed for Huawei so as not to violate the US ban. Qualcomm is also said to have built a special version of the Snapdragon 888 without a 5G modem for the Huawei P50. Since Huawei is running out of Kirin processors, Qualcomm’s support is sorely needed – even if it means doing without 5G.
Huawei also wants to provide smartphones with updates
According to current rumors, Huawei will officially introduce at least one smartwatch and this tablet with HarmonyOS 2.0 tomorrow. On the same day, Huawei is said to also create the possibility for many users to update their smartphones from Android to HarmonyOS. In this article, we’ll tell you what advantages and disadvantages this has.
