Samsung’s 49-inch Ultrawide OLED Gaming Monitor
Samsung Electronics America has announced the launch of the world’s first 49-inch OLED gaming monitor, the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC model), marking a new era in OLED gaming. With an impressive 0.03ms response time and a 240Hz refresh rate, this device is available for pre-order as of today.
The Odyssey OLED G9 is more than just a monitor; it’s a premium gaming experience in a class of its own. “With the launch of our Odyssey OLED gaming monitors, we’re offering gamers new levels of immersion with unrivaled picture quality and innovative gaming features only Samsung can deliver,” said James Fishler, Senior Vice President, Home Entertainment & Display Division, Samsung Electronics America.
Setting the Odyssey OLED G9 apart from other OLED gaming monitors is the addition of the Neo Quantum Processor Pro. This intelligent processor uses a deep learning algorithm to analyze images and automatically upscale them, adjusting brightness and amplifying contrast. This results in the delivery of the most brilliant images, each detail restored pixel by pixel.
In addition, the Odyssey OLED G9 integrates AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro to enhance its super smooth gameplay experience. With DisplayHDR™ True Black 400, it delivers incredible details and vivid colors regardless of the game being played or the content the user is watching. The monitor’s slim design is housed within a sleek metal frame and includes Samsung Odyssey’s signature CoreSync and Core Lighting+ at the back. These advanced lighting technologies match the colors on-screen, making content more immersive and bringing the gaming experience to life. The built-in stereo speakers complement on-screen content with crisp sound.
The monitor also comes equipped with Samsung Gaming Hub and Smart TV apps, providing access to streaming, gaming services, and entertainment all in one place. The Gaming Hub enables users to discover and play games from partners such as Xbox Game Pass and NVIDIA GeForce Now without the need for downloads or storage space requirements. The monitor also has a Multi-View offering, allowing gameplay on up to two screens at once, eliminating the need for a multiple-monitor setup.
For optimal user experience, the Odyssey OLED G9 offers versatile connectivity options, including HDMI 2.1 and Micro HDMI 2.1, Display Port 1.4, and Auto Source Switch+. A Height Adjustable Stand (HAS) enables users to find the perfect gaming or viewing position.
The Odyssey OLED G9 is now available for pre-order on Samsung.com from June 12-25. Customers who pre-order the monitor will receive a $250 Samsung.com gift card. The device will be available for purchase on Samsung.com and at select retailers nationwide for $2,199.99
