Riot Games Unleashes the ‘Soul Fighter’ Event
Riot Games, a leading developer in the world of online multiplayer games, has officially announced the much-anticipated Soul Fighter event. Slated to begin globally on Thursday, July 20, this six-week event will run through Monday, August 28, providing players with a myriad of new game modes, skins, champions, and more.
Soul Fighter, a tribute to the fighting game genre, is set in a vibrant world where fighters with extraordinary abilities compete in the “Tournament of Souls” to prove their mettle. This competition is hosted by the enigmatic ‘God’s Eye,’ and it continues until only one fighter remains standing.
For players of League of Legends, the event is introducing a new game mode known as ‘Arena,’ a new champion called ‘Naafiri the Hound of a Hundred Bites,’ and numerous Soul Fighter skins, including an Ultimate skin for Samira. Players can participate in the ‘Tournament of Souls,’ an in-client metagame experience, where they play as Samira to gain a reputation and unlock new abilities to progress further in the tournament.
The Soul Fighter event is also contributing to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, with 20% of proceeds from certain items and bundle sales going to the fund. This includes the Soul Fighter Samira skin, the Soul Fighter Event Pass, and related bundle sales.
The new Arena game mode involves four teams of two players each, battling in rotating combat rounds on various battlefields. Champions from the Soul Fighter universe might make occasional appearances, sometimes aiding the teams, other times not so much.
Over in Teamfight Tactics, the event brings a new game mode ‘Soul Brawl,’ Chibi Champions, a Mythic Arena, and an Event Pass. This temporary game mode unfolds in two stages: the Training phase where players compete for Soul Power and the Tournament phase where players compete in a best-of-three bracket tournament.
Wild Rift players can look forward to six new Soul Fighter skins, a unique in-client narrative experience, and an exclusive game mode called ‘Tag Duel.’ In this mode, players engage in one-on-one combat, choosing three champions and seamlessly swapping between them to reach four kills first and claim victory.
Legends of Runeterra is also partaking in the event, with a new Event Pass that introduces new Soul Fighter skins for various champions, new Emotes, and new Cardbacks.
