Google Photos Update: New Feature Is A Boon For Fans

Google Photos Update

Google is now offering users of its photo service an exciting and valuable function that automatically removes blurred photos. This allows users to clean up their storage space – and that will be much more important than before with Google Photos shortly.

Google Photos: Easily Delete Blurred Images

From June 1, 2021, new conditions will apply to Google Photos, for which the group has been preparing its users for several months. Many users have to say goodbye to unlimited storage space – but there is also a slight advantage, as it now turns out.

In the new options for managing the storage space, a new feature is now available. Google automatically searches the uploaded images for blurred and shaky photos and suggests them to be deleted. Users can then decide for themselves whether they want to keep such images or not.

Google also reports huge videos and screenshots for possible deletion. The function is now available on Android and iOS.

Another innovation in the management of the available storage space is now also open. Google makes its calculations here and informs users how long the free storage space will last. Backups that have already been carried out serve as the basis. According to Google, more than 80 per cent of users will still be able to back up high-quality photos and videos to Google Photos for three years.

Google Photos: 15 GB Storage Limit

As of June 1, 2021, most users will receive a limited storage space of 15 GB. If you want more storage space for videos and high-quality photos, you have to switch to one of the paid offers from Google One. However, this restriction does not apply to photos and videos uploaded up to June 1st. Accordingly, a quick backup can be worthwhile.

New Tools To Manage Google Photos Storage

This means that with these changes, the photos you upload to the platform will now count towards your Google Account storage limit. And so you will have to pay if you find yourself running out, and you want to continue sending, of course.

That being said, to help you better manage this storage, Google is announcing new features for Google Photos. This should cut down on waste into something. New features include the ability to delete uninteresting photos in batches. Google will group photos that its algorithms deem blurry or screenshots that are no longer relevant into folders for you to delete quickly.

According to the statement of Google, “Today, we begin to deploy a tool in the Photos application to help you easily manage photos and videos you have saved and that will count in your space storage. For example, the storage management tool will highlight photos or videos that you might want to delete – such as blurry photos, screenshots, large videos – so you can better manage your storage. You can also purchase more storage through Google One when available.”
