Everything You Need to Know About MultiVersus
MultiVersus has become the new talk of the town for literally everyone who loves gaming, movies, and even TV shows. It has taken the whole gaming community by surprise because honestly, no one was expecting this massive crossover platform fighter with characters from popular TV shows and Cartoons.
But despite the game’s official announcement back in 2021, the gaming community still has many questions that need to be answered about the game. And so in this article, we are going to take a deep dive into the Multiversus to find out everything we need to know about it!
What is MultiVersus?
Before we talk about the whens and whys, we need to what Multiversus actually is. And to put it into simple words, Multiversus is a crossover platform fighter game currently being developed by Player First Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Since the game is being published by Warner Bros. it features a massive roster of characters from many popular TV Shows, Cartoons, and movies. As of the time of writing this article, the game currently features a total of 19 playable characters including Shaggy, Superman, and Arya Stark, to name a few. Each of these characters is divided into different classes including Tank, Mage/Ranged, Support, Assassin, and Bruiser.
MultiVersus Gameplay
The game offers 1v1 and 2v2 game modes where you attempt to knock your opponents off of the platform to win the game. Each of the characters has moves that work best in the either vertical or horizontal directions and sometimes, in both directions. Depending on the class, each of the characters has some pros and cons that you have to keep in mind while attacking or dodging your opponent’s attack.
MultiVersus also comes packed with a ton of customization options for your favorite characters, allowing you to change the way your character looks. So far the combat looks super cool with smooth animations but I do feel some of the characters will get nerfed down a tiny bit to balance them out in battle.
When is Multiversus Coming Out?
Multiversus was first announced back in 2021 however there were rumors about the game dating back to 2019. But it wasn’t before a leak from Super Smash Bros. Melee player Hungrybox that we had some kind of confirmation about the game being in the works.
However, as of July 19, an early access version of the game was released that cleared out many confusions and questions that we had about the gameplay of the game. A week after the early access, the game’s open beta was also released on July 26, 2022, with confirmation about the new character additions in the game.
Multiversus first season was announced to be released on August 9, 2022, but it seems it’s been pushed back for an indefinite amount of time and we are yet to find out for how long.
Is MultiVersus Free?
Many people have been asking whether Multiversus would be a free-to-play game or not. Fortunately, you can claim MultiVersus for free with some paid elements that the players could choose to spend their money on. The game has 3 different Founder packs with different features including character tickets, banners, and much more.
What Platforms will MultiVersus be on?
Multiversus will be available to play on most of the major gaming platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and Switch. The game would also offer full cross-play support for all consoles for a super smooth gameplay experience.
MultiVersus is already on the path to becoming one of the most popular fighting games of this year and hopefully, we will get to see it in action very soon.
