Nikon D5600 DSLR Camera Review and Specification

Cameras are a really fantastic tool for capturing and recording the beautiful moments in our life. There are different types of cameras with different specifications and capacities that can be used for different purposes. Ranging from the instant photo camera to the ultra HD DSLR cameras, there are wide ranges of cameras that can be used for a variety of purposes. Many brands of cameras are available in today’s market.

One such top brand in the market is Nikon. They are manufacturing a wide range of products like cameras, camera lenses, binoculars, measuring instruments, scopes for multiple purposes, etc. Based in Japan, it is one of the world’s top most selling camera brands for many applications including wildlife photography, portfolio shoot, etc. In this article, we are going to see the specifications and reviews of its latest product Nikon D5600.

Nikon D5600

Nikon is offering its entry-level DSLR’s in two series – D3xxx which is very affordable and more suitable for beginners and D5xxx which is slightly advanced over the former with better control. 18 months after the launch of the D5500 series, Nikon launched its D5600 series. While it is more similar to its predecessor, there are some differences that can be spotted right away between the two.

Nikon D5600 Specifications

The specifications are more identical to its predecessor, with the same resolution which is incorporated with a fantastic CMOS sensor. Also, the same EXPEED 4 image processor is used in this camera. The main addition to the D5600 camera is the timelapse movie feature which is only available with the high range models of Nikon. With this feature, videos can be shot completely as an in-camera function with a perfect exposure smoothening. The technical specifications of Nikon D5600 are as follows:

  • Sensor: 24.2MP APS-C CMOS
  • Lens mount: Nikon F-mount
  • Screen: 3.2-inch vari-angle touch screen, 1,037,000 dots
  • Burst shooting: 5fps
  • Autofocus: 39-point AF
  • Video: Full HD 1080p
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth
  • Battery life: 820 shots
  • Weight: 465g

Connectivity features of D5600

The main difference that can be spotted right away between the D5500 and D5600 series is the connectivity features. In D5600, along with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, Nikon has introduced its Snap bridge Connectivity. With this, an instant connection can be created between the camera and your smart device, if you have downloaded and installed the SnapBridge application in your smart device. Even with the low energy Bluetooth connection, single or batches of images can be automatically transferred between the camera and device, but the main drawback of this feature is that only images in JPEG format can be transferred.

With the available Snap bridge, you can also transfer movies and videos captured, but in such cases, instead of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity will be used.

Conclusion

With considerable updates to the former D5500 series, the D5600 camera can be considered as one of the best options to purchase even though the newly introduced Snapbridge feature still needs some refining. If the 4K video capturing is also introduced similar to its competitors, it can be one of the greatest options to choose for your camera and photography needs.
