OpenAI Launches GPT-4 Turbo for Paid ChatGPT Users
OpenAI has announced the rollout of GPT-4 Turbo to paid ChatGPT users, marking a significant upgrade in the capabilities of its popular AI model. The announcement, made via X (formerly Twitter), highlights enhancements in the AI’s mathematical, logical reasoning, coding, and writing abilities. The new model promises more concise, conversational, and direct responses, improving user interaction quality.
In December, Microsoft had already integrated GPT-4 Turbo with its CoPilot AI chatbot and the image generator DALL-E 3, showcasing the broad applications of this advanced AI technology. OpenAI’s introduction of GPT-4 Turbo in November outlined substantial improvements, notably the ability to process up to 300 pages of text at once—six times the capacity of its predecessor.
The update not only allows for handling more complex prompts but also supports generating detailed captions for images and fulfilling text-to-speech requests. OpenAI has continuously expanded the model’s knowledge base; while GPT-4 stopped at data from September 2021, GPT-4 Turbo includes information updated until December 2023, allowing it to provide more relevant and timely responses.
