Google Keep Introducing New Wear OS Tile

Google Keep Feature Wear OS Tile

Google Keep, the note-taking service by Google, is introducing new features, including a Single Note Wear OS Tile and some exciting tweaks to the Android app following the Material You design principles.

The newly introduced Single Note Wear OS Tile is a promising addition to the Google Keep for Wear OS. It allows users to select one of their notes to display in the tile. This feature follows the introduction of a similar widget version for Android home screens earlier this year. A Note Creation Tile is also being introduced. If users choose a note, it will appear in the same feed with the selected one appearing at the front. Users can access four lines of text per note or list, which might be somewhat restricted as the background colors are displayed. Despite these new features, the main feed is inaccessible without navigating backward, and there is no always-on display (AOD) mode for Tiles yet.

The Google Keep Android app has received some significant updates following the Material You design principles. The navigation drawer now has attractive rounded corners and hovers similarly to other first-party apps. In the settings tab, new slider toggles have been added to each of the display options, replacing the previously flat, sharp ones. These slider toggles are accented with color based on the user’s system’s Material You picker. The updates are part of Google’s continued efforts to improve the user experience and design aesthetics of its apps.
