Delta Game Emulator is Now Official on iOS
Delta Game Emulator, crafted by renowned developer Riley Testut, is now officially available on the Apple App Store. This launch follows Apple’s recent policy update, which now embraces game emulator apps, marking a significant shift in the app ecosystem.
Riley Testut, the mind behind the once-popular GBA4iOS, continues his legacy with Delta, an emulator that previously thrived outside the App Store’s boundaries. Delta supports a variety of classic gaming systems including NES, SNES, N64, Nintendo DS, Game Boy, and Game Boy Advance. It is compatible with popular game controllers and is enriched with features such as cheats, save states, cloud syncing, and more.
What sets Delta apart are its user-centric functionalities: customizable controller skins, Haptic Touch support, and game-specific box art. It also offers options for fast-forwarding gameplay and a unique “hold” button for continuous command inputs. Additionally, Delta provides a local multiplayer feature that supports up to four players, enhancing the social gaming experience.
The app’s debut was shadowed by the brief approval and subsequent removal of iGBA, an imitative version of Testut’s earlier GBA4iOS, which highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by game emulators in the iOS environment.
Delta is available as a free download in the United States and various other regions, designed to be ad-free and not collect any user data, ensuring a pure gaming experience. However, due to regulatory challenges, it is not available in the European Union, where it is offered through alternative platforms.
This release not only enriches the mobile gaming landscape but also legitimizes the use of emulators that preserve classic games, ensuring these timeless experiences remain accessible.
