Samsung Expands Galaxy AI-Language Support to Reach More Global Users
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced an expansion in the language capabilities of its Galaxy AI, adding three new languages—Arabic, Indonesian, and Russian—and three dialects—Australian English, Cantonese, and Canadian French—to its interface this spring.
This update, set to roll out in 2024, will complement the existing 13 languages already supported, enhancing the accessibility of mobile AI for Galaxy users worldwide. Additionally, Samsung plans to introduce Romanian, Turkish, Dutch, Swedish, Traditional Chinese, and European Portuguese later in the year.
TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the company’s commitment to democratizing mobile AI technology. “With this year’s language expansion, we are enabling more Galaxy users to transcend language barriers uniquely through Samsung technology. Our ongoing innovations are geared towards equipping users with superior mobile AI experiences to unleash their potential,” Roh stated.

Note Assist: Creates AI-generated summaries, templates, and translations to boost productivity in document preparation.
Transcript Assist: Employs AI and Speech-to-Text technology to transcribe, summarize, and translate spoken content.
Live Translate: Offers real-time voice and text translations during phone calls, simplifying international reservations or conversations with non-native speakers.
Browsing Assist: Delivers quick summaries and translations of news articles and web content, keeping users informed and efficient.
Chat Assist: Generates context-aware suggestions and translations to refine conversational tones, suitable for both professional and casual interactions.
Interpreter Mode: Provides live, split-screen translations for face-to-face conversations, enhancing communication between speakers of different languages.
The new language packs will be available for download via the Settings app on all compatible devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. Samsung’s commitment to expanding the linguistic versatility of its AI tools reflects its broader strategy to adapt to the diverse needs of its global user base.
