Xiaomi’s 13 Ultra Lands in Europe
Xiaomi has officially unveiled its most premium phone of 2023, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, in Europe. The phone, first introduced in China in April and later in Hong Kong, has now hit the European market, where it’s poised to compete with top-tier phones from tech giants like Google, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, and Apple.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra, priced at EUR 1,499.99 for the 12GB/512GB model, delivers a flagship camera experience supported by a camera system co-developed with Leica. As an added bonus, Xiaomi is offering a free instant Photo Printer worth EUR 140 with the purchase of the 13 Ultra. Customers who order the phone will also benefit from a trade-in bonus of EUR 200. The device is available in Black and Olive Green colors in Europe, with other color options presented at the China release. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is currently available for pre-order in Germany, France, Spain, and Italy, and sales will commence on June 21.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The phone runs on an Android 13-based MIUI 14 platform. It also boasts a hefty 5,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, ensuring that users won’t be left searching for a power source.
The smartphone’s 6.73-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED panel offers a vibrant viewing experience with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. A 120Hz variable refresh rate ensures a smooth, fluid display. A 32 MP selfie camera is housed in the screen’s hole-punch notch.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s camera setup features a 1-inch Sony IMX989 50MP primary camera with a variable aperture that can be adjusted to f/1.9 or f/4.0. It is accompanied by a 50MP Sony IMX858 ultra-wide lens, along with two 50MP Sony IMX858 telephoto sensors offering 2.5x and 5x optical zoom. The camera system, co-developed with Leica, is expected to deliver stunning photography results.
