Android 12: Big Widgets Coming with A Big Update
After Google released the first beta of Android 12, it is now much clearer what users can expect from the next Android version. Google has made many plans for the design – and the focus is on drilled-out widgets that should be more beautiful and more functional.
Android 12: Update For Widgets
Widgets have been available on Android as little helpers on the home screen for many years. With Android 12, there will be one of the most significant updates in this area. Google has done a lot to make widgets more attractive on the one hand, but also to equip them with significantly more functions on the other.
With the beta version of Android 12, it is clear what Google plans to do in this area. Google wants to make it easier for app developers to create widgets. Users, in turn, should find them more efficiently in a new overview and determine the appearance themselves. The new design language that Google calls “Material You” fits in with this. Better descriptions should also help that users have the most suitable widgets in use.
Android 12 users are also faced with a new feature when it comes to using widgets. Widgets should also be able to be called up and controlled by voice via Google Assistant. A conventional view via the home screen will, of course, still be available.
It has been rumored that Android 12 will introduce a new music widget, redesigned WiFi and Bluetooth toggles, volume slider, and significant security improvements alongside a revamped UI.
Scrolling Screenshots:
Another prominent feature that will be introduced is scrolling screenshots. Generally, when you take a long or scrolling screenshot, you have to keep scrolling to capture the screen. But now, unlike the previous method, you will have a different activity opened with an expanded view of the page, where you can select a particular area to get a screenshot manually.
New Security Features:
Google will roll some significant security features with the upcoming Android 12. The tech giant has revealed that new security indicators have been added in the UI so that the users will be able to see which app is using the microphone, camera, or any other sensor. The new update will also unveil the ‘Permission management hub,’ which will give the users an overview of permissions used on the device by different apps to get permission requests with more transparency.
Android 12: More design freedom.
Widgets should be designed much more individually under Android 12, but the operating system’s design is also left to the users. According to Google, “Material You” can be used to adapt the look to your own needs completely. Your photos should even inspire a unique color design. Users can choose an image from which Google will extract the colors and use it to create their strategy for Android 12. Additionally, there is an indication that the foldable devices will get a taskbar similar to that of windows in the upcoming version of Android.
